How This Tracker Works

1

Add Your Vehicle

Enter the name, year, and current mileage. Pick a preset maintenance schedule for common cars, or build your own from scratch.

2

Log Each Service

Every time you change the oil, rotate tires, or replace a filter, log it with the date and mileage. The tracker does the math for you.

3

See What's Due

Each service item shows the next due date and mileage. Items turn yellow when they are within 500 miles or 30 days of being due, and red when overdue.

4

Export or Print

Download your data as a JSON backup, or print a clean summary to hand to your mechanic or keep in the glovebox.

Common Mistakes and Helpful Tips

Skipping the air filter

The cabin air filter and engine air filter are easy to forget because they do not cause obvious problems right away. Most manuals say every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. Add both to your tracker so they do not slip through the cracks.

Ignoring time-based intervals

Some items, like brake fluid and coolant, need replacement based on time, not just mileage. If you drive very low miles each year, these can become overdue even though the car feels fine. The tracker handles both mileage and date intervals.

Forgetting the tires

Tire rotation every 5,000 to 7,500 miles helps them wear evenly and last longer. Tire pressure checks should happen monthly. Add both as separate items so you get a reminder for each.

Not updating mileage

The tracker can only calculate due dates if the current mileage is accurate. Get in the habit of updating the mileage field each time you log a service. A quick odometer photo on your phone helps.

Overlooking the transmission

Transmission fluid changes are often skipped because they are expensive and not always in the quick-lube menu. Check your manual. Many cars need it every 30,000 to 60,000 miles.

Keeping a backup

Your data lives in this browser. If you switch computers or clear your history, the records are gone. Export a JSON file every few months and store it somewhere safe.

Questions People Ask

Can I track more than one vehicle?
Yes. Add as many vehicles as you need. Each one gets its own card with a full service history and upcoming items.
What happens if I sell a car?
Click the delete button on that vehicle card. All its service history is removed from your browser. Export first if you want to keep the records.
Does this work on my phone?
Yes. The layout adjusts to any screen size. You can log a service from your phone right in the garage.
Can I share my tracker with someone else?
Use the export button to download your data as a JSON file. They can import it into their own browser. There is no cloud sync.
What if my car has a different schedule than the presets?
Pick the closest preset, then edit the intervals. Or start from scratch and add every service item manually.
Is my data private?
Everything stays in your browser. No data is sent to any server. No account is created. No tracking scripts run on this page.
